The live game exposes seven interface languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Change the language in Settings; the game stores the choice in localStorage and reloads. A saved choice wins over the /en/ URL, then the browser language, then English fallback. Untranslated strings fall back to English.

The seven languages
| Language | Code | Locale |
|---|---|---|
| English | en | en-GB |
| Español | es | es-ES |
| Français | fr | fr-FR |
| Italiano | it | it-IT |
| Português (Brasil) | pt-BR | pt-BR |
| 简体中文 | zh-Hans | zh-CN |
| 繁體中文 | zh-Hant | zh-TW |
The official guide and FAQ still say English and Spanish. The live selector and locales code have seven. The 9 October news post announced English and Spanish; the extra languages were added later. Use the seven-language list for the current build.
How to change the language
- Open Settings in the game.
- Choose Language.
- Select the language.
- The game writes
ps.langto localStorage and reloads.
The website’s /en/ path is separate from the in-game language. The game UI is localized by the game, while the website pages have their own English/Spanish versions. Changing the game language does not translate this guide.
Which language wins
The priority is:
- A saved choice in
ps.lang. - The /en/ path, if present.
- The browser’s language.
- English fallback.
A saved choice is per browser, not per account. A different device can start in another language until you set it. If the game keeps returning to Spanish or English, check the saved language and the URL before changing the browser.
Missing translations
The game was written in Spanish and translated client-side. If a string is missing in the selected language, it falls back to English rather than Spanish for non-Spanish locales. A partially translated screen is not a broken save; it is a missing string.
The official page’s hreflang covers Spanish and English, not all seven game languages. Do not infer the game’s language support from the website’s language switcher alone.
Chinese text and fonts
The Chinese locales add system CJK fonts to the pixel font stack so Chinese glyphs render. The font fallback is a code-level observation; a player-facing screenshot of every Chinese screen was not captured in this research. If a glyph is missing, check the OS font and the browser zoom before reporting a translation bug.
Translation claims and Burst
A Chinese patch claim can refer to a fork or to Pokémon Survivor Burst, not this game. The official site’s game UI already includes Simplified and Traditional Chinese; a third-party “Chinese patch” is not required for the current build. The comparison guide separates the two games.
The official website is pokesurvivor.com. A site that offers a translated client or an account for a different game is not the same product. The download guide covers official vs copy entries.
Quick answers
Which languages does PokeSurvivor support?
Seven in the live game: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
How do I change the language?
Settings → Language. The game saves ps.lang and reloads.
Why does the game start in Spanish?
The priority is a saved choice, the /en/ path, the browser language, then English. A Spanish browser can start in Spanish until you change it.
Is a Chinese patch required?
No for the current official build; it includes Simplified and Traditional Chinese. A third-party patch may be for a fork or a different game.
