PokeSurvivor Held Items

Compare all 11 PokeSurvivor held items, their exact effects, how they drop and the build trade-offs behind each choice.

The 11-item list is from the official items page updated 21 October 2026. Balance changes can alter values; this is not a gameplay test.

PokeSurvivor has 11 held items, and you can carry only one at a time. They come from chests and boss defeats and last for the current run. Choice Band gives +40% damage but locks the active move; Life Orb gives +30% with an HP cost; Focus Sash leaves you at 1 HP once every 60 seconds. The right item covers the mistake your build actually makes.

How items drop

The official items page says held items come from chests and from defeating bosses. Locked chests give coins, 1–3 normal tickets, a 15% ×10 ticket chance, an item and a level of experience. A regular boss drops 10 coin pickups, one held item, a large experience orb and has a 1/3 chance of a ×10 ticket.

Because a new item prompts a choice, you do not lose the old one until you decide. Check the current item before opening a chest if the run depends on it. The world objects guide covers chest timing and traps.

The one-item rule

Only one held item can be equipped. If you find another, you choose which to keep. The item lasts for the whole run, not just the current arena. There is no stacking of two damage items or two defensive items.

This makes the item a build decision rather than a collection score. A second copy of an item is not better than a different item that covers a weakness. The build guide shows how the item fits the four-slot plan.

Offense, defense and economy

Offense: Choice Band, Life Orb, Quick Claw and Choice Scarf. Choice Band has the highest listed damage bonus but the harshest condition. Life Orb is a smaller bonus with a recurring cost. Quick Claw and Choice Scarf improve frequency or movement rather than the damage number.

Defense: Focus Sash, Assault Vest, Leftovers, Shell Bell and Rocky Helmet. Focus Sash prevents one lethal hit per minute; Assault Vest reduces every hit; Leftovers regenerates; Shell Bell rewards consistent damage; Rocky Helmet punishes melee contact.

Economy: Lucky Egg and Amulet Coin. Lucky Egg accelerates level-ups, which can reach evolutions and cards sooner. Amulet Coin increases end-of-run coins for permanent upgrades. Neither helps survive the current fight.

Common mistakes

  • Taking Choice Band on a coverage build. The move lock removes the reason you kept a second type.
  • Taking Life Orb at low HP. The per-attack cost can turn a long boss fight into a loss.
  • Ignoring Focus Sash timing. It saves you once every 60 seconds, not on every hit.
  • Treating Amulet Coin as a combat item. It pays out after the run; it does not help you finish it.
  • Assuming a boss always drops a ×10 ticket. The regular boss chance is 1/3; the rift legendary chance is 1/2.

Quick answers

How many held items can I carry?

One. Finding another lets you choose which to keep, and the item lasts for the current run.

Where do held items come from?

Chests and boss defeats. Locked chests can also give tickets, coins and experience.

Does Choice Band stack with another damage item?

No. You can only hold one item, so Choice Band and Life Orb cannot be equipped together.

Do held items persist after the run?

No. They last for the whole run, not for the account. Permanent upgrades are a separate system.
