Trees block permanently; rocks, chests and tall grass can be destroyed. Altars grant a 25-second power, springs heal 14% max HP per second while you stand on them, and locked chests need 3.5 seconds beside them. Traps can poison, slow or explode, and they also damage enemies. Water slows non-Water types; lava burns non-Fire types.

Destructibles and blockers
| Object | Behavior | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Tree | Permanent blocker; blocks enemy shots as cover. | No loot. |
| Rock | 34 HP; breaks when attacked. | Experience, coins, berries or loot. |
| Chest | 22 HP; breaks when attacked. | Experience, coins or loot. |
| Tall grass | Cut by any attack. | Clears the line of sight; no direct loot. |
A tree is useful cover against enemy projectiles, but it also blocks your own movement. Do not hide behind a tree in a dead end. A rock or chest is worth breaking if it is on your route; chasing one across the map is usually not.
Altars of power
An altar grants a 25-second power. The four powers are:
| Altar power | Effect | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Fury | Damage ×2 | Boss burst or a dense wave. |
| Bolt | +45% speed | Repositioning, escaping a closing ring or reaching a rift. |
| Magnet | Magnet range ×4 | Collecting experience and coins after a wave. |
| Haste | −40% cooldown | Frequent casts and buff uptime. |
The altar effect is temporary. Do not spend a rare 25-second window on a nearly empty screen. If a boss is about to spawn, wait a few seconds and take the altar with the boss present.
Healing springs
A spring heals 14% of max HP per second while you stand on it. It drains as you heal and recharges over 45 seconds. The spring is a hold position, not a teleport: you have to stay on it, which can be dangerous in a crowded wave.
Use a spring when the horde is behind you or after a boss, not while a ring is closing. A spring can out-heal chip damage from sand or snow, but it cannot out-heal a direct boss hit. The weather guide covers chip damage.
Locked chests
A locked chest requires 3.5 seconds next to it. It gives coins, 1–3 normal tickets, a 15% chance of a ×10 ticket, an item and a level of experience. The timer is interrupted if you leave the interaction radius; clear the nearby enemies before starting.
The chest is one of the best ticket sources in a run, but it is also a stationary target. Open it when the wave is thin or after a boss. The gacha guide lists the other ticket sources.
Traps
| Trap | Effect on player | Effect on enemies |
|---|---|---|
| Poison | 10% HP and poison | Also damages and poisons enemies. |
| Sticky | Slows movement | Also slows enemies. |
| Explosive | 20% HP burst | Also damages enemies in the blast. |
Traps can be used deliberately. Pull a horde across a poison or explosive trap instead of walking through it yourself. The trap does not distinguish friend from foe; the damage applies to anyone in the area.
Water, lava and terrain
| Terrain | Effect | Immune / reduced |
|---|---|---|
| Water | Movement speed drops to 60%. | Water types are immune to the slow. |
| Lava | 6% HP + 5 damage every 0.5 seconds. | Fire types are immune. |
| Ice | Slippery movement. | Ice types handle it better; exact friction can vary by arena. |
| Poison / spark | Type-specific hazard effects. | Matching types or defensive items reduce the risk. |
Terrain changes a route. A Water partner can cross water at full speed while the horde slows; a Fire partner can cross lava. Do not assume a shortcut is safe because it looks open. The rift arenas use the same terrain logic, and the arena type is a clue.
For object loot and altar timing in a boss route, see the boss guide. For the item you keep after opening a chest, see the held item guide.
