Wild Pokémon have a 1/4096 shiny chance; gacha pulls are 1/100; rift legendaries are 1/512. A wild shiny sparkles and gets an edge arrow pointing to it. Defeat it to add it to your collection. You can select the shiny version of an owned partner from the collection. A duplicate shiny refunds triple PokéCoins.

Shiny rates
| Source | Shiny chance | How it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Wild enemy | 1/4096 | Sparkles and an edge arrow points to it. |
| Gacha pull | 1/100 | The pulled partner is shiny. |
| Rift legendary | 1/512 | Rolled when the arena legendary is created. |
The wild rate is the same for every spawning Pokémon that has a shiny form. Almost all 966 have one. The gacha rate is much higher, but a gacha pull still has to roll the partner and the shiny separately.
How to recognize a wild shiny
A wild shiny has a different palette, a sparkle effect and an arrow at the screen edge pointing toward it. The arrow is useful when the shiny is off-screen in a crowd. Do not rely on the palette alone; some shiny differences are subtle.
If you see the arrow, move toward it before the wave pushes you away. The shiny is still a normal enemy until defeated; it can be killed by your area attacks before you reach it. A single-target active move is safer if you are trying to preserve a specific shiny.
Keeping and selecting a shiny
Defeating a wild shiny adds it to your collection. The collection screen lets you choose the normal or shiny version of a partner you own. This is a cosmetic selection; the partner’s stats and moves come from the species and your upgrades.
A shiny partner is not a separate account slot. You do not need to re-buy upgrades for the shiny form. The upgrade guide explains the per-Pokémon progression that applies to the species.
Rift legendary shinies
A rift legendary rolls shiny at 1/512 when the arena is created. The roll happens before the fight, so the shiny is visible in the arena. A win adds it to your collection; a loss does not.
The rift shiny rate is separate from the wild and gacha rates. Do not apply the 1/4096 wild rate to a legendary arena. The rift guide covers the arena and rewards.
Duplicate refunds
A duplicate shiny refunds triple PokéCoins compared with a normal duplicate of the same rarity. The normal refund is 15/30/60/120/300 by rarity; a shiny duplicate is 45/90/180/360/900. This is a refund for the extra copy, not a sale of your only shiny.
If you are hunting a specific shiny, the gacha’s 1/100 rate is the faster route, but the pool is regional and the ticket cost is real. A wild hunt costs time and a run, not tickets. Choose the route that matches the partner you want.
Do shinies change stats?
The official pages describe shiny as a collection variant and do not state a stat bonus. The current game data does not expose a separate shiny stat block. Treat a shiny as the same partner with a different palette until a source shows otherwise. Do not assume a shiny is stronger or that it changes move access.
The Pokédex lists the regular stats; the tier-list guide explains why a cosmetic variant does not change a model rank.
Quick answers
What are the wild shiny odds?
1 in 4096 for a wild Pokémon that has a shiny form. A shiny sparkles and gets an edge arrow.
What are the gacha shiny odds?
1 in 100 per pull. The partner still has to be the one you want; the shiny roll is separate from the species roll.
How do I keep a wild shiny?
Defeat it. The shiny is added to your collection, and you can select the shiny version from the collection screen.
Do shinies have better stats?
The official pages do not state a stat bonus, and the current data does not expose a separate shiny stat block. Treat it as a cosmetic collection variant.
